The Valleyview condo building, at 101 McIntyre Drive Mackenzie BC V0J 2C0, is located on a slight rise overlooking the community of Mackenzie. The building is a three-story building with all units above ground. The main entry is level and leads directly to the ground floor units. A generous sized elevator across the hall from the main entrance access the second and third floors. Stairwells are located by the main entrance and at both ends of the building where there are additional entrances. The ease of entry coupled with the elevator make the building wheel chair friendly.




Most of the 42 units have the same floor plan as shown and are two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Three units have a single bathroom and there is a one-bedroom unit on the main floor. The floor plan lends itself to shared accommodation. The building was completed in 1982 and the strata council has employed a building manager continuously since inception. This is reflected in the overall good condition of the building and the grounds. Strata fees vary slightly according to unit size but are about $210 per month, which includes hot water and cablevision. Strata holds an adequate contingency fund. There are 67 parking stalls of which 42 have electrical outlets for block heaters. Each outlet is allocated to a specific unit and switched from within that unit.



The building was built at a time of considerable expansion in Mackenzie BC when there was a need for good quality low maintenance condo units that could be lived in or rented out. The building has proved popular with retired people. Currently 16 of the units are home to their owners and 17 of the units are still owned by the original buyers.
